Floral
Profiles describe recurring tendencies and established uses. Climate, ripeness, extraction, and maturation change an individual wine. Coverage is selective; an untagged grape is unclassified.
- Cabernet Franc
Pyrazines can give herbal character alongside floral and fruit aromas. Exposure, ripeness, and blending change their prominence.
- Gewürztraminer
Strong grape-derived perfume can occur in dry wine. Warmth and later picking can reduce its comparatively modest acidity.
- Glera
Fruit and floral expression are important in Prosecco. Tank and bottle refermentation give different maturation options.
- Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains
Grape-derived perfume persists across dry, sparkling, sweet, and fortified styles. Aroma alone does not establish sweetness.
- Nebbiolo
Can combine marked acidity and tannin with relatively pale colour and floral aroma. Ripeness, extraction, and age change the expression.
